As part of the \u201cMemTecPlus\u201d initiative, WTA UNISOL collaborated with leading research partners to develop a microfiltration module for the treatment of mine water. The goal was to develop a continuous-flow membrane filtration system capable of removing particle-bound pollutants, heavy metals\u2014particularly arsenic as a specific concern\u2014and recoverable materials from contaminated water. <\/p>\n

Our subproject focused on developing a demonstration module, implementing a practical pilot plant, and testing various membrane materials under real-world conditions. The PVC and PES membranes developed achieved promising results when operated with contaminated sludge from the \u201cRoter Graben.\u201d <\/p>\n

The project demonstrated the potential of innovative membrane systems for treating industrial and mining process water, while also opening up new areas of application for our technologies.<\/p>\n
