At IFAT 2026, Alin Schiopu, General Manager of Hofstetter Environmental Solutions, spoke about current developments in the field of integrated landfill solutions and the importance of modern membrane technologies for the treatment of landfill leachate.
Drawing on more than 50 years of experience in landfill technology, Hofstetter Switzerland demonstrated the importance of a holistic approach to the efficient and sustainable operation of landfills. A key aspect of this is the targeted management of moisture levels within the landfill body. Achieving the right balance not only supports optimized leachate management but also contributes significantly to the stabilization of biological processes and the efficient production of landfill gas.
