WTA Technologies GmbH and UNISOL Membrane Technology GmbH merge to form WTA UNISOL GmbH.

Last year, the shareholders of WTA Technologies and UNISOL Membrane Technology signed a merger agreement. The merger with WTA strengthens UNISOL Membrane Technology’s presence in Europe and at the same time opens up the company’s international orientation. UNISOL’s sales networks and locations in America, China and India also give the newly formed German company WTA UNISOL GmbH direct access to global markets.

According to Carsten Bachert, Managing Director, “…the WTA and UNISOL product areas are 100% complementary and at the same time the markets are often congruent. WTA and UNISOL have already been cooperating successfully for two years in the areas of sales, procurement and production. This successful cooperation ultimately led to the logical conclusion that 1 + 1 can be more than 2 and that future milestones can be achieved faster and more efficiently together.”

The location of the merged company is Gotha. WTA Technologies opened its headquarters and production facility in the Kindlebener Feld industrial estate in Gotha back in 2018. With a financing volume of several million euros, the company invested in state-of-the-art machine technology and know-how for the production of membrane modules for the treatment of water, waste water and process water. Today, the technology offered by the WTA makes a decisive contribution to the harmless reuse of treated wastewater, as microplastics or multi-resistant pathogens, for example, can be retained and thus removed from the water cycle.

UNISOL, with its own production of flat membranes for micro-, ultra-, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis and a state-of-the-art production of different module types, such as plate or wound modules, has always focused on process and special applications in membrane technology.

Walter Lamparter, Managing Director, added “…that the current crises in particular show that solutions are needed in the field of environmental technology, treatment and recycling of water and process streams. WTA UNISOL is ready with its innovative technologies.”

Milestone and meeting point!
In future, all German sales, product and process development, engineering services, services and production activities will be bundled at the Gotha headquarters. Over the last two years, a fully automated production system based on the Industry 4.0 model has already been created here. Production has been equipped with the latest information and communication technology and networking no longer enables just one production step to be mapped, but the entire value chain to be optimized. This means that all phases of the product life cycle can be included, from the idea to development, sales and marketing, production, use and maintenance through to recycling. This is just one example of the kind of innovation that WTA UNISOL GmbH is using to better support customers in markets around the world.
