Various membrane processes are used in the dairy industry, the largest F&B market with a long history of membrane usage. For example, reverse osmosis and nanofiltration are used to concentrate and demineralize milk, whey and lactose.
Ultrafiltration modules concentrate whey, a by-product of cheese and casein production, to produce whey protein concentrate (WPC) or whey protein isolate (WPI). Microfiltration modules are used to degrease whey, which improves the quality of whey protein concentrates and isolates. Membrane separation technology has established itself as an indispensable component of many F&B processes, with spiral wound modules accounting for the dominant share.
WTA UNISOL offers its customers in the food sector a versatile range of sanitary designs as well as membranes and modules for microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. Our products are characterized by high product quality, precise cutt-offs and the use of FDA and EU-compliant materials.
As a competent partner in the food & beverage sector, we offer you a wide range of membranes, formats, spiral wound modules, DT modules and submerged membrane units from our portfolio.
With the acquisition of AMS in March 2023, WTA UNISOL is now also able to supply the AMS NanoPro and UltraPro series, which are resistant to alkalis, acids and solvents.
